The Milan Furniture Fair continues to record positive numbers: the 61st edition, which ended last Sunday, testified once again to the value and depth of one of the world’s most important trade fairs in the furniture sector. «An international success» is how President Maria Porro described it. And the numbers are certainly in favour of this thesis: over 2,000 exhibiting brands, 34% of which foreign from 37 different countries. Among them also 550 young designers from 31 countries, and 28 design schools and universities from 18 different countries; in terms of attendance, 307,418 (+15% compared to 2022) were registered over six days, from 181 countries. 65% of buyers and trade operators came from abroad. There was also strong interest in the Fuorisalone’s side activities.

Buoninfante, present at the Salone del Mobile 2023 (this is the 15th consecutive time), once again left its mark at this edition thanks to the innovative proposals brought to the fair, the business meetings and partnerships undertaken that opened the doors to new stimulating projects. Innovation, sustainability and tradition: these are the three key words for the company led by Enzo Buoninfante, who took the opportunity to present X-BIO Health-Tech, the new mattress with sensors capable of monitoring sleep quality and allowing people to know and improve their sleeping habits. «We can be satisfied with the experience we have just had at the Salone del Mobile. We brought forward two core concepts of our company: innovation and sustainability. As far as innovation is concerned, the presentation of X-BIO Health-Tech represents a further step in the X-BIO project, which is fundamental because it marks the integration between the mattress and smart technology that makes it a 4.0 product and testifies to our company’s constant and long-standing commitment to Research & Development. On the sustainability front, the project launched last year sees an important step forward and a paradigmatic leap: we have moved to an inter-company vision, a fundamental dimension to achieve what we have set ourselves and superior performance in terms of eco-sustainability. This year’s Salone del Mobile was an opportunity to draw up a supply chain protocol – whose points essentially involve adapting to a circular economy and making all processes more efficient – and to meet many companies with whom we have forged important relationships. Important goals achieved thanks to the work and commitment of those who were present at the fair and of all the staff in the various company departments who work every day with commitment and passion to meet the challenges of innovation, internationalisation, digitalisation and growing competition on world markets» said Enzo Buoninfante, CEO.

«The first Buoninfante mattress designed to monitor sleep quality, X-BIO Health-Tech, encapsulates some of the key concepts of this edition of the Show: innovation, design and functionality. An innovative project applied to a product (X-BIO) that already in itself ensures quality sleep that aims to improve the quality of life, excellence and the search for all possible sources of customer satisfaction: a mattress with superior performance, a high-value service from pre-sales consultancy through to delivery and installation, and technological integration capable of improving the quality of life. There is great enthusiasm within our team, because we can’t wait to finally bring this new innovative and revolutionary solution to the market, to confirm the trust placed in us by consumers by winning Product of the Year 2023» concluded Gianluca Di Giovanni, Global Brand Manager X-BIO and CMO Buoninfante.

In addition to its own recognisable and totally eco-sustainable stand, the company also took part in the Fuori Salone with an installation in collaboration with Shell and Pelma, large-scale giants in the production of energy and flexible polyurethane foam respectively, definitively celebrating its intention to take a step towards a more sustainable future at Superstudio with ‘Sustainability Engagement’.

Experiences, ideas and projects in trend and in coherence with the Circulife project, officially launched during the last edition of the Salone, which will lead the company, by 2025, to be a 100% sustainable company aiming at a circular and green economy.
